Why I Choose All That Games as My Home Shop and Joined Team ATG
By Ryan Sparks
There are a lot of places to buy cards, play events, and hang out with other TCG players - but for me, there’s only one place that truly feels like home: All That Games (ATG).
From the moment I walked into ATG a few years ago, something felt different. The staff/owner remembered my name. Not just one time, but every time after. That familiarity turned into friendship, and soon, it wasn’t just a game shop anymore - it was a community I belonged to. Over time, I got to know nearly everyone who walks through those doors, and they got to know me. And I’m not alone- over 40–50 regulars across Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Lorcana, Pokémon, and more are known by name, not because of how much they spend or how often they win, but because they show up and love the game.
You can walk around the shop, dig through boxes, and hunt for singles-and you’re never doing it alone. Regulars will stop what they’re doing to help you find what you’re looking for. Some will even sit down with you to help build or tune your deck. It’s not about ego or keeping tech secret-it’s about sharing the joy of the game and making each other better.
Another thing that sets ATG apart is how much they support the larger community beyond their own walls. They’re known for showing up to other local game stores’ events and spreading positivity. They even go through Magic and Lorcana event calendars intentionally, making sure they don’t schedule over other shops’ big days. That’s not something they have to do-it’s something they choose to do, because they understand that the community isn’t about competition between stores. It’s one community, and ATG treats it that way.
There was a time when my Mox Diamond was stolen, and I was devastated. Word got around, and without hesitation, the entire ATG community came together. People donated cards, time, and energy so we could gather enough trade value to get another one from a different game store, since ATG didn’t have it in stock. That kind of support isn’t normal, it’s special. It’s rare. And it’s exactly why ATG is more than a game shop to me.
At ATG, it’s never been about status, money, or trophies. You don’t need to be a top player or a big spender to be recognized. If you’re passionate about the TCG you love, you’re part of the team. Period. That’s why joining Team ATG meant so much to me. You don’t have to grind tournaments or chase clout to wear a jersey. You just have to show up, have heart, and be part of what makes the community strong. The owner Travis also takes care of his people, guaranteeing the lowest prices around ensuring everyone can play the games they love.
Events here aren’t thrown together to maximize profit or fill quotas. They’re intentionally designed to fit into the lives of the regulars and people who want to play, thoughtfully scheduled to accommodate real people with real commitments. The focus is on fun, growth, and connection, not just competitive bragging rights. Sure, the competition is real, but the camaraderie is stronger. And whether you’re new or a veteran, when you’re at ATG, you’re family.
Honestly, if ATG closed tomorrow, I’d probably just stay home and play Magic and invite friends over. No other game store has ever taken the time to treat me like family the way ATG has-welcoming me in, remembering who I am, including me in things that matter. It’s more than just a place to play. It’s where I belong.
That’s why I call ATG my home shop.
That’s why I wear the jersey.
And that’s why I’ll keep showing up, week after week, event after event.
Because here, you’re not just a player.
You’re part of something real - you are #ATGFAM
